  • Playgroups where parents and preschoolers can meet, talk and have fun

  • Social groups - get to meet other people and have fun

  • Educational groups - learn new skills

  • Craft groups

  • Women's groups

  • Men's groups

  • Young people's groups (12 - 18 yr olds)


Centres sometimes have equipment you can use:

  • Computers

  • Photocopiers

  • Fax Machines

  • Telephone

  • Laminators

  • Binders


Our worker can help you to :

  • Find a space to meet

  • Meet with others to take action on local issues

  • Write funding submissions for money to help your group

  • Write to Government bodies

  • Fill in forms


We can provide information on:

  • Health

  • Housing

  • Local services

  • Activities

  • Available in your area

  • Other services that may be able to help you

  • Disability services

  • Aged services

  • Children's services

  • Many other different services

Most of these services are free or low cost.

Not all Centres provide these services but they can tell you where to find out what you want.


How you can become involved in your local Neighbourhood or Community Centre:

  • Drop in and say hello to the community worker

  • Attend a group or activity

  • Become a volunteer and learn new skills

  • Have a say in what your local service does

  • Join the Management Committee
