Aims of the Project
This project was funded through the Area Assistance Scheme for two years.
A steering committee was established to oversee the project. This committee was made up of people from both the indigenous and non indigenous community.
The final work of this project was the development of a toolkit called "Walking Together".

The Neighbourhood Centre Forum has continued it's commitment to improve relationships with the Aboriginal community and the wider community through a series of Aboriginal Cultural Workshops funded by the Wyoming Community Centre via funding they received. These workshops have been held at a number of Centres across the Coast where attendees learn about and make some traditional Aboriginal crafts such as painting, basket weaving etc whilst having discussions around the Aboriginal culture and their history to help people gain a better understanding and remove some of the myths about Aboriginal people.
Wyong Neighbourhood Centre held one of these
workshops at the Watanobbi Community Centre in February 2007. They reported
that Jenni discussed Aboriginal culture and history and reflected back on
her past experiences. The group had such a good time discussing issues and
telling stories that they ran out of time to do any craft so it was arranged
that they could link up with Jenni at another workshop to complete the craft
