The Wyoming Community Centre commenced operations in 1990 and extensions were carried out in 1999 due to the increasing number of projects and people using the building.

Day to day operations of the Centre are overseen by the Manager, Joan Jones, who has been at the Centre since it opened.  The Centre is managed by a voluntary community committee made up of local residents and people who have an interest in the local community.

The Centre now has contact with over 6,000 people per month and currently has a staff of 25.  As well as the projects listed on this page the Centre often carries out one-off projects and offers assistance to local residents in a variety of other ways, including hiring of rooms, services of a Justice of the Peace, etc.

The Centre aims to involve the Multicultural Community in the annual Kids Day Out.

Most services of the Centre are free and even though there is a charge for child care, parents are able to claim child care benefits to subsidize their costs.
